WHAT IS SOLAR SCREEN FABRICS?

The solar screen fabrics are a state-of-the-art technical Solar Screen Roller Shades fabric, composed of PVC or polyester and fiberglass filaments that, thanks to its enviable characteristics, Solar Screen Roller Shades has become the current undisputed king in the manufacture of technical curtains: roller blinds, Japanese panels, vertical slats, etc.
FABRICATION PROCESS
The exceptional characteristics of the Solar screen fabrics are achieved through a very advanced and specific manufacturing process. Solar screen fabrics are obtained from continuous glass fibers individually coated before being woven. After the creation of the warp, it is woven into state-of-the-art electronic looms, through a process that provides its particular texture. Its manufacturing is done with high frequency welding.
ADVANTAGES OF SOLAR SCREEN FABRICS
- Durable
Thanks to its composition and its sophisticated manufacturing process, the Solar Screen Roller Shades is extremely durable, almost unalterable over time; It does not deform, it does not fray, it does not alter its color with the evolution of time. This extreme durability gives good account the fact that the solar screen fabrics are a fabric suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation, without losing its qualities.
- Let the light through, but not the heat (nor the cold)
The Solar screen fabrics is a fabric that allows you to take full advantage of the entry of light, while protecting us effectively from UV rays.
Its composition of PVC-coated fiberglass or polyester threads works as a Solar Screen Roller Shades, allowing light to pass inside, but not heat or UV rays, serving as protection for floors and furniture.
So much so that the Solar screen fabrics provide between 50% and 100% more light than a conventional blind and offer energy savings ranging from 25% to 34%, both air conditioning during summer and heating in winter.
In addition, the Solar Screen Roller Shades enables the rapid and efficient renewal of the accumulated air between the fabric and the glass, thanks to a natural convection process.
- Provides good outward visibility
Being a microperforated fabric, the solar screen fabric allows to have a good outward visibility, without altering the colors.
- Maintenance free and easy to clean
The Solar Screen Roller Shades is extremely easy to maintain. It does not require care or maintenance and, if cleaning is desired, it can be easily done by wiping it with a damp cloth. In addition, Solar Screen Roller Shades fabric has the property of being antistatic and repelling most dust.
Protects against glare, allowing the passage of light
Choosing an appropriate degree of opening, completely eliminates reflections on monitors or TVs inside the room where it is installed. For this use, an opening factor between 1% and 3% is advised.
- Fire retardant
In case of fire, the fiberglass Solar Screen Roller Shades does not melt or break off, since the fiberglass does not hold the flame. In this way, the shape of the curtain is preserved and the fire does not spread. In addition, it does not emit toxic gases.
SOLAR SCREEN FABRIC OPTIONS
- Opening factor
As we mentioned earlier, Solar screen fabrics are microperforated. The opening factor indicates the percentage of the tissue surface occupied by holes or pores. For example, in a totally opaque fabric, without perforations, the percentage of the tissue covered by holes is, of course, 0% and, therefore, 0% is also its opening factor.
For this reason, the aperture factor is also a measure of the amount of light that Solar screen fabric tissue lets through. It ranges from 0%, for totally opaque fabrics that provide total darkness in broad daylight (widely used in windows without blinds), up to 16% for the most diaphanous fabrics.
For fabrics with a high aperture factor, those that let in a lot of light, very thin fiberglass filaments, from 2 to 3 microns, are used, which results in a fairly transparent fabric, but that keeps all its qualities intact of sun protection.
To get the thickest or most opaque fabrics, the thickness of the threads increases, adding more PVC. In this way, fabrics with different degrees of opening can be obtained, suitable for the environment in which they will be used.
The following illustration shows an example of several Solar screen fabrics opening factors and their influence on tissue transparency
- Thickness
It can range from 0.25 mm to 0.80 mm. Depending on whether it is to be installed indoors or outdoors, one thickness or another is more appropriate.
- Weight
The weight varies from 160 g / m2 to 800g / m2 (for opaque fabrics).
